Empowering Qatar’s Solar Transition through Immersive Education and Standardized Training
KAHRAMAA is calling on innovators to develop an immersive BeSolar Awareness Lab (utilizing VR, XR, or AR) that transforms solar education into a high-fidelity interactive environment. This initiative seeks to bridge the gap in public understanding of net billing while standardizing high-quality installation practices among contractors.
💡 Your Mission:
Create an immersive, scalable 3D environment (VR/XR/AR) that educates customers on solar PV benefits and net billing, while providing a safe, hands-on training space for contractors. The solution must be portable for events, support both Arabic and English, and provide accurate modeling of Solar PV components to ensure standardized, high-quality outcomes across Qatar.
🚀 Why Participate?
- Work directly with KAHRAMAA, a regional leader and pioneer, on a high-impact national energy strategy challenge.
- Demonstrate your capabilities in VR/XR engineering, creating environments that support up to 20 simultaneous users for professional training.
- Gain access to specialized resources, including KAHRAMAA’s BeSolar technical data, training materials, and pilot sites such as the KAHRAMAA Awareness Park.
- Receive up to USD 100,000 in QRDI funding for the assessment, design, and pilot implementation of your solution.
- Explore opportunities for commercial deployment with potential rollouts across various KAHRAMAA departments and other industry players.
Be part of shaping the next generation of smart, solar-literate communities through immersive digital innovation. 🌟
Challenge Statement
KAHRAMAA is seeking solution providers to develop an immersive BeSolar Awareness Lab—utilizing VR, XR, or AR—to bridge the gap between complex technical solar regulations and public understanding. As Qatar targets 4 GW of renewable capacity by 2030, there is a critical need to move beyond resource-intensive manual training toward scalable digital experiences. Currently, fragmented communication and costly physical demo sites hinder the growth of distributed solar services like BeSolar.
Your solution should utilize advanced 3D modeling and interactive environments to provide a dual-purpose platform. The goal is to create a high-fidelity experience that visually explains net billing to the public while offering a safe, hands-on training space for contractors to master standardized installation and inspection methods. This system must be portable for events, support both Arabic and English, and be capable of supporting up to 20 simultaneous users for professional training sessions.
